- 4 cooking apples (such as Golden Delicious or McIntosh)
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup water
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon
- Wash, peel, and remove the core from the apples
- Place apples, butter, water and cinnamon in a heavy pan.
- Cook on low heat until apples are soft and mushy, about 25-30 minutes.
Makes: about 3 cups, 6 servings
- Freeze applesauce in a popsicle molds for a great treat on hot days
- Add applesauce to hot oatmeal in the morning
