If you are a fan of Rice Krispies Treats, you will love these crunchy, chewy bars! They are packed with nutrition making them perfect for active children and breakfast.


  • 7 cups puffed whole grain cereal (such as Quaker Puffed Wheat or Kasha 7)
  • ¾ cup dried cranberries
  • ¾ cup dried blueberries or raisins1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ¾ cup honey
  • ¾ cup peanut or almond butter
  • 2 Tbsp. butter


Stir together the cereal, dried fruits and cinnamon in a large bowl. Place honey, peanut (or almond) butter, and butter in a large microwave-safe measuring cup.  Microwave 1 ½ munities on high until hot and butter has melted. Stir the mixture well and pour over the cereal mixture.  Stir to coat.  Dampen hands with cold water.  Press cereal mixture into a 9X9 pan (re-wet your hands to keep mixture from sticking).  Freeze for 30 minutes.  Cut into 15 bars and store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
